Ford have announced the car and van scrappage scheme aimed at improving air quality by enabling customers, of any brand, to trade-in and scrap their old vehicles for a range of new and affordable Ford cars and commercial vehicles, including the popular Fiesta and Transit Custom, with significantly lower emissions.

The 1986 Fiesta Popular+ has been loaned to the dealership for the duration of the launch event. The Mark 2 has a 1.1litre petrol engine and has covered 78,000 miles in the past 21 years.

    In February 2015, Shropshire based dealer group Greenhous purchased two Ford dealerships in Newtown and Welshpool in Mid-Wales from WR Davies. Over the last 18 months the Newtown Ford business has been redeveloped to accommodate a new Transit Centre. To help run the group’s first Ford outlets Greenhous employed Tony Mellish, who had wide fleet experience with Ford. Initially fleet and commercial manager, Mellish oversaw the rebuilding of Newtown and the creation of the Transit Centre. In January 2016 he took over as dealer principal.

    Tony Price builders of Llandrindod Wells have visited the new Greenhous Ford Transit Centre in Newtown to collect five 66 plate Transit Trend Limited Edition Vans and One Transit Connect 200 Limited Edition Van. The owner, Tony Price, himself came up to the dealership to receive the official handover from Alex Richards, Sales Executive for Greenhous Ford Commercials.

    Lee Morgan’s passion for model glider flying can be traced back to his time as a boy watching his grandfather flying them. Those early excursions left an impression in Lee’s mind and he took up glider racing in 2009, and now is a member of the Long Mynd Soaring Association (LMSA). Lee is a sales controller with Greenhous Ford based in Welshpool, where he is pictured with one of his gliders.

    The new Greenhous Ford Transit Centre is up and working in Newtown, Powys. There are just a few internal fixtures and fittings to be installed and a little tarmac to be applied to the car park, and the external signage is on order.
