A year ago Edd Phillips, from Guilsfield, expressed his desire to continue with his training so that he would be able to attain his Master Technician status with Ford.He had just secured his Diploma as a Ford Powertrain Specialist from the Henry Ford Academy – the first stage on his route to the Masters award. Now the combination of 5 years hard work and passing around 75 courses has led to Edd achieving his goal – Master Technician.
Edd is justifiably proud of his achievement and this is shared by the Greenhous Ford Aftersales Manager, Wes Stray who says: “It is a just reward for Edd to gain his Master Technician status. He is always keen to improve his knowledge base and has worked very hard to gain the recognition he deserves. We are all delighted for him.”
Edd was raised on a farm and drew inspiration for all things mechanical from his Dad and uncle. He joined a small family run business in mechanical engineering and went to College Powys for one year, before moving on to the Shrewsbury College to take a Level 4 Motor Vehicle Maintenance qualification. He joined the W R Davies Ford dealership as it was, 10 years ago.
“Becoming a Master Tech will also allow me to help mentor and develop future apprentices, passing on that valuable experience I have gained down the years”, commented Edd. “I have gained the knowledge and experience to work on all of the Ford models, though there is no time to ‘rest on my laurels’ as training is a continual process.”
Greenhous Ford and the whole Group are delighted with Edd’s success.
