Lee Morgan is the sales controller at Greenhous Ford in Welshpool. He is also a major motorcycling fan. He gives his account of a wonderful day spent supporting the massive ‘Bike4Life’ ride-out from Shrewsbury to Cosford. “After what seemed like forever, Sunday 26th came upon us, I had spent a few evenings making sure the bike was ready for such a momentous occasion, and now it was here. I got up first thing, togged up and got on my way to Welshpool. With Bike 4 Life on Facebook it meant several groups from all over the country had organised their own meeting point. I met up with a small group at Tesco in Welshpool, from where we headed for Shrewsbury, collecting a few more friends at Dinky’s Diner on the way. Nothing had prepared me for what greeted us at Meole Brace. I have been to the first two of these meets in 2012 and 2013, but they were only just getting known. It was truly amazing, the car park was full from corner to corner, literally wheel to wheel in the car park and still more arrived. As 11:30 arrived everyone togged up ready for the off, the ground rumbled as so many bikes fired up. We were off! I am told the line of bikes reached from Meole all the way to Cosford at one point. There were hundreds of people lining the roads and stood on all the bridges, there to wave us on, the feeling was immense. We arrived in Cosford where all of the car parks again were full of bikes. Over 5000 were reported to have attended, but I am sure a bigger number may well have taken part. It’s amazing that so many people have come together for a great cause and raised around £45,000 in aid of the Midlands Air Ambulance.”
